Magic Contests
Yearly contests are conducted at several levels. They are conducted according to a set of strict rules. In the event that contestants do not come up to an acceptable level, the relevant trophy or certificate is not awarded.
Junior Magician of the Year for the Donovan Andree Trophy
This contest is open for members between the ages of 13 and 18 years.
Magician of the Year
This contest is open for members over 18 years.
National Championship
This contest is open for all Sri Lankans over 18 years.
Master Magician
This contest is open for members who have already won the Magician of the Year contest.
Amateur Magician
This contest is open for members over 18 years.
Lady Magician of the Year
This contest is open for lady members over 18 years.
Besides these contests a series of mini contests are also conducted, usually during Convention time for the following trophies.
- Sleight of Hand Trophy
- Comedy Magic Trophy
It has been proposed that two more contests be introduced.
- Veteran Magician of the Year – for members over 60 years of age
- Street Magician of the Year – a novel contest is being planned to choose the best Street Magician among our members.
